Fred Hayes, Triumph TR3, #8, Hockley Valley Hill Climb, Spring 1956
For ten years, from 1953 to 1962, the British Empire Motor club scheduled spring and fall hill climbs in Hockley. The event was cancelled a few times, mostly because of weather-related track conditions, but once because spectators had trampled the timing equipment.
Did you know that the BEMC were very forward thinking when in 1958, members bought a property north of Bowmanville? It was called… you guessed it! Mosport!
